Declaration

We, the leaders of Churches in the Caribbean, assembled here in Puerto Rico this fourth day of May in the year 2000 in response to the direction of the Holy Spirit, acknowledge that the Great Commission as given by our LORD Jesus Christ to make disciples of every nation is the privilege and responsibility of every Christian and every church.

We gratefully recognise the faithful and sacrificial service of those who brought the Gospel to, and planted churches throughout, our region. In the presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and “surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,” we do now declare that the Caribbean Church accepts its call to be a part of the missionary force.

flags We further declare, in the authority of the name of Jesus, that the Caribbean is no longer just a mission field, but from this moment on is an integral and vital part of the global mission force. In obedience to God we release from these islands the best of our people, and the resources needed for their support, to go to the uttermost parts of the earth to proclaim the Gospel, to plant Churches, to disciple the nations, and to serve God wherever, whenever, and however He commands.

We solemnly make this covenant with God and invite Him to transform our ministries and our Churches that His purpose may be accomplished and that His glory and the knowledge of Him may fill the earth as the waters cover the sea.
