Belize Nazarenes help in disaster aid after Tropical Storm Arthur

The 2008 hurricane season had not even officially started when Tropical Storm Arthur hit Belize on Saturday, May 31. Arthur dumped as much as 15 inches of rain on the country, especially in the southern area of Belize in the Stann Creek district.Belize District Superintendent John Tzib reports no Nazarenes lost property or were injured. Church Leaders Shot In Jamaica

Three church leaders have been shot in Jamaica during the past twelve months. The latest is Pastor George Simpson of Mt. Carey Baptist Church in St. James. Pastor Simpson was standing in the porch of his home about 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 26 when gunmen approached and opened fire, hitting him in the head.
