FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is the registration so expensive

The registration fee covers all the costs associated with the congress. Expenses include: venue, audiovisual, refreshment breaks, poster presentations; speakers’ travel plus their accommodation and meals, etc.

Why are only one or three hotel options listed?

The Congress gets a substantial discount for meeting space, sleeping rooms, and other services at the headquarters hotel. As a result, the Congress is required to occupy a large percentage of its hotel rooms.

Is my family welcome?

Certainly! Kingston has many cultural and fun activities than you could possibly visit in just one trip. However, only Registrants are allowed to attend CONECAR events, seminars, workshops, and other specific activities. The Evening Sessions are open to the general public. Fun times, sight-seeing tours and other activities are planned; hence there will be opportunity for family members and interested participants to enjoy time together.

How should I dress?

Business casual will be the standard for the day sessions. The dress code for the night sessions is semi-formal. For the Wednesday night Awards/Evening Session, consider a coat for the gentlemen and casual cocktail attire for the ladies.

What if I want to arrive early or stay an extra day?

The Jamaica Pegasus, Springburn House and Shirley House have agreed that only Registered Delegates can stay at their facility either 3 days before or 3 days after the CONECAR Event for the same nightly fee.

What about parking?

Parking is free both at the Congress Venue and the hotels.

Will there be shuttles to and from the airport?

CONECAR 2009 will offer direct shuttle service from the Norman Manley International Airport. The nominal fee (which is included in the registration) will eliminate the need for a rental car since all events are either on-site or with transportation provided.

Are Exhibitors invited to attend?
